“I have been working with Coach John for approximately 3 years now. Before I started working with coach John I was going to a big global gym and mostly working on exercises to try to get my appearance to look better (bench press, curls, etc.) I thought I was very strong but I continuously had back problems and knee pain. This is when I reached out to coach John and he explained to me the importance of functional fitness, mobility, and mindset. When I first started working out with coach John I never used to do any kind of squatting at all. In fact I think the most I could squat was 135 pounds. John taught me the importance of these types of movements as it’s good for not only your legs but it helps strengthen your core and your midline. I can now squat 285 pounds! When I started working with coach John, immediately I could feel my core and my legs getting stronger which led to me having almost zero back pain and has also tremendously improved my knee pain. I also noticed that while working with Coach John all of my other movements continued to get stronger as well, to include the bench press! Not only have I gotten all around stronger while working with Coach John, I have also become a happier person. I can now squat down and play with my kids, or go for long hikes with my wife and have no pain at all in my joints or back. Coach John’s theories on the connection between your mind and body have been a huge attribute to helping me succeed. Coach John preaches the importance of technique and form which has really helped me stay healthy in the gym. Learning the proper techniques in certain movement has also helped me build strength as I have watched my Personal Records go way up! It is easy for me to say that Coach John’s program has changed my life. I have more confidence now because of the way my body has transformed over the past 3 years, I am a better father and husband now because I am living life pain free and I am able to do way more, and I am just an all around happier person because I decided to give coach John a call. “I started working with Coach John after completing a 5-month surplus with the primary goal to build muscle. “I’ve been working with John one on one since 2018. After having breast cancer and completing chemotherapy my oncologist suggest I start strength training. Since I had little strength training experience I was very hesitant mostly due to not knowing what exercises to do, how to do them or where to start. When I started working with John he was excellent at identifying flaws and correcting my form to prevent injury. The workouts John developed over the past 2 years have always been varied and challenging but not so extreme they impact my ability to function the rest of the day.
In early 2020 we moved to TrueCoach for virtual training and I really like it. I gave John a list of equipment I have at home and he develops workouts. If I’m unfamiliar with an exercise the TrueCoach app provides videos demonstrating each move. I like the freedom of working out at home being able to work out when my schedule allows. Although I have limited equipment the workouts do not get boring. John is always checking in asking how I’m feeling and what my heart rate is during workouts. He is very encouraging and very available!
After working with John for 2 years I feel strong, balanced and I’m injury free. Strength training is part of my survivorship and integral and an enjoyable part of my routine.“
